MIGRANT WORKERS

Migrant workers are people who move from one country to another in order get a job or pursuing a better life, Migrant workers often work in hotels or restaurants, food processing, fruit  picking and shellfish gathering (UK) but they can also work in companies with management positions ranging from managers to secretaries. Being a migrant worker usually generates Brain Drain (ex: Colombian scientific working in a laboratory in Switzerland).

Sometimes the term can be confused or mixed with expatriates and an overseas experiences but the main difference is that while a migrant is traveling to get a job, expatriates are sent by a company to accomplish a goal and the overseas experience travel on their own, to get cultural experiences or to learn a foreign language.
